SOLFEO biogenic isoprene emission estimates over South America. * Introduction This document discusses the biogenic isoprene emission estimates over South America. Available at https://emissions.aeronomie.be/index.php/tropomi-based/isoprene-sa The biogenic isoprene emission estimates are derived using the adjoint of the MAGRITTE chemistry-transport model Müller et al., 2019) constrained by tropospheric HCHO column densities from the TROPOMI satellite instrument (De Smedt et al. 2018). HCHO data are publicly available via http://www.tropomi.eu/data-products/formaldehyde. The a priori isoprene emissions (MEGANv2-ECMWF) are taken from Stavrakou et al. (2013). * The file format and contents The data are provided in NetCDF files for the year 2018. The values are in kg / (gridcell+ACo- month) in a regular grid with a 0.5 by 0.5 degree resolution. Logitudes range from -85 to -32 and Latituses range from 15 to -34. * Additional information The dataset is described in detail in the final report of the SOLFEO project: * Contacts Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy Ringlaan-3-Avenue Circulaire B-1180 Brussels BELGIUM T.
